Kairos Saturday....The first step

“The journey in between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place”. Barbara De Angelis

Latin American leaders have always fascinated me, which is no ordinary thing considering the region has a reputation of producing leaders of almost cult status. The likes of Che Guavera, Lula da Silva and Hugo Chávez are enough to get any young man’s blood rushing (that is if you knew what they stood for and believed in social justice). but it is Manuel Antonio Noriega Moreno former president of Panama that I can most relate to .Noriega's life is an epic in itself .a story of God's favor on a man who did not deserve it. Many people remember the deposed president as a drug dealer but few know that Noriega surrendered his life to God in prison and accepted Jesus for who He is … The Son of The Living God and Saviour of our souls.

You see some peole get saved when they are broke busted and disgusted. However my walk of faith started of in a kind of different way . Life was good I was 21 and having fun.but I was in a different kind of jail that I did not recognize. (some of you reading this are in that similar jail but your eyes have been blinded and you can not see.-My prayer is that my story will give you a glimpse of where you are)

It all started one Satuarday evening, I was in my second year at USIU. Nothing ordinary about the weekend, the plan was like any other weekend drinking ,partying ,bar hoping and clubbing just your ordinary Nairobi life , the only difference was God had other plans for my life. This satuarday was no ordinary satuarday it was a
kairos
satuarday .

As soon as we walked into the first bar I heard that clear still voice say today you are going to die.you will not make it home and you will never sleep on your bed again! As we sat down to order our drinks I didnt order my usual tusker and my friends thought I kind of looked distructed.well what would you do if you heard what I heard. A few pool games later it was time to move to the next bar . again as I got into the car the inner voice was there again repeating you will die today !.The only difference this time was I knew it was the truth and I could do nothing to stop it .......

To be continued…………

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Romans 8:28-30 (New International Version)

Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me
were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139:16(New International Version)
