Faith by Grace

This weekend there was a story in the news, Elton John the British singer was in the news condemning organized religion for its unwillingness to compromise on certain issues . Now i am not a fan of religion,( i prefer relationship) but it seems to me that everywhere you look Christianity is under attack. (i can assure you elton john was not talking about islam or shintoism)Blogs haven’t been left out too. almost every week you can read a healthy doze of triads against salvation ,church and belivers .I guess what we are seeing are the after effects of the haggard case .The aftershocks seem to have put Christians on the defensive. On the way to work today I was listening to Paula white talking about salvation and I though this was the exact word that people need to hear at this particular time. When the devil is trying to confuse people . Salvation is a gift that comes by grace and not by works. At a time when the works of Christians are under such scrutiny it is important to remember that faith is a gift of grace. That we come to the father not in righteousness but we come to the father because of his great mercy.Sometimes even Christians need to be reminded of this. That we are saved by the grace of God and not by our works.
Often it is difficult for people to understand what salvation is all about. Simply because they are Spiritually blinded .Anyway God's ultimate plan for us is that we should all receive His grace ,that we yield our hearts to him and accept His free gift oF Salvation

Give ear, O God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy
.Daniel 9:18 (New International Version)
