At the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel

Wow writing this post is turning out to be harder than I thought. I just rewrote what I am trying to say I think three times .

Anyway positioning yourself to receive what God has for you is very important .Often we talk about the things we hope to receive or do for God but we often neglect to consider how position ourselves is important to reaching this goal .Positioning yourself and being where God wants you to be when he makes His move is really important .Not because God cant use you where you are or do something for you in your current position but because it is a sign of obedience .

When God wants to do something great in your life he will always give instructions that need to be followed .To sammuel's mother He gave instructions.To samsons mother He gave instructions .Before you can birth greatness you to will have to follow instriuctions .The story of king Jehoshaphat Defeating Moab and Ammon recently caught my attention .The story tells of how Israel was under attack from a large army .Judging from the size of the army it was clear to the king that he could not fight the enemies.Turning to the Lord God Jehoshaphat fasted and prayed along with Isreal asking for deliverance.The Bible then goes on to say ....

Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly. He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's. Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' "

Just like Jehoshaphat and Israel ,today a call to position ourselves rings out from heaven .God has big plans for us in 2007 ,plans to defeat our enemies and give us plunder just as he did for johoshaphat. Though our enemies may not be ammonites or human beings, God's desire is for us to have victory over the things that prevent us from being where He wants us to be in 2007.In the story God said that the battle is not ours but you notice he had specific instructions for Israel. God has specific instructions for us .He will fight our battles but we must obey and position ourselves for the great victory that he will give us. Israel emerged from the Desert of Takoa and saw the defeat of the enemy at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. Today God is calling you out of the desert ,position yourself to see the defeat of your enemy .2007 is the year you see your victory .it is the year that you see God put an end to that great army that has harassed you for years .That addiction/failure/plague that you thought you couldn’t overcome ,God has heard your cry .He is asking you to position yourself so that you can see the defeat of your enemy . For the battle is not yours, but God's.but You have to position yourself .
